ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) The Orange Beach Fire Department is investigating a fire that destroyed a vacation home 28,000 block of Burkart Drive Wednesday evening.
“We were on the scene within 5 minutes, unfortunately the home was a total loss by the time we arrived,” Fire Chief Shane Phillips said. “We had good water pressure but we had to pump water into dead-end street and it was a 3,000 square feet home.”
Officials said nobody was home when the fire started.Home owners Elizabeth and Gerald Naizzen start crying on the scence.
Crews contained the fire just before 7 pm; however crews remained on the scene until Thursday morning to make sure hot spots didn’t start another fire.
